This is a pretty easy pitch. Since you’re interested enough to come to this link and since you’re reading these words, you might as well subscribe to my newsletter, my Down South Perspective (DSP), which I’ve been sending out since 2001.

There’s no downside that I can think of. It’s free, there’s no advertising, and of course I will not share your email address with anyone.

Although I’m the first to admit that I’ve sent out some dumb dispatches (as some of my subscribers have been quick to point out), I do not do so blithely or without purpose. You’ll hear from me when I have something to say. If you get tired of me or cranky about what I say, it’s easy to unsubscribe.

Can't You Get Along With Anyone?

If you write me, either based on one of my dispatches or not, I’ll probably write back. When I don’t do so, it’s usually because of something that’s going on in my life and I’m too frazzled or ecstatic or otherwise distracted to concentrate on writing emails. But I read all of them. I don’t skim them; I read them.

I love getting emails, hearing from people, even when they’re cranky about something I’ve done or said. Listen: The cover to my new book, Can’t You Get Along With Anyone? A Writer’s Memoir and a Tale of a Lost Surfer’s Paradise, was partially designed by a subscriber whose vision of it was better than mine; it knocked me out.

So subscribe and let me communicate with you, and if you’re so moved, communicate back.
Communication is what I’m all about.
